Microcredencial Decarbonization. Green Corridors. MEDPorts Training Course – Algeciras Port

- Understanding of international maritime regulations and standards: This course will provide a comprehensive understanding of the regulations set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) related to the maritime sector’s energy transition.

- Understanding of European Union policies and guidelines regarding maritime transport: European Union policies related to maritime transport will be explored, such as the promotion of sustainable practices, emission reduction, and the integration of ports into the European transport network.

- Familiarity with the management and operation of the Port of Algeciras: Participants will gain knowledge about the specific management and operation of the Port of Algeciras, including its infrastructure, services, and development strategies.

- Understanding of different types of alternative fuels and their application in maritime transport: Various alternative fuels available for maritime transport, such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), biofuels, and hydrogen, will be examined, along with their advantages, challenges, and practical applications.

- Skills in sustainable port operations and energy transition: Participants will learn about sustainable practices in ports, as well as understand the challenges and opportunities associated with the energy transition in the maritime sector.

- Knowledge of emerging technologies, such as hydrogen, and their potential in the maritime sector: The potential of hydrogen and other emerging technologies to decarbonize maritime transport will be explored, including their technical, economic, and regulatory viability.

- Competence in transport corridors and logistics for new fuels: Participants will learn about established strategies around so-called “green corridors” and logistics for new fuels.

The program is open to anyone interested in maritime, logistics, and port training.

The program is likewise addressed to professionals interested in the sustainability of the maritime-port sector, motivated to acquire practical skills in emissions reduction and the energy transition in ports.
